La Reserva Nature, Leisure and Adventure Park is one of the natural attractions of the Tramontana mountain range. An approximately 3.5-kilometre-long circular trail takes you along historic charcoal burners' paths through the Mediterranean forest and to ever-changing vantage points with views of the Tramuntana. You will pass through various waterfalls (artificially created) and can observe a variety of animals and plants. Reserva Park Galatzo is also a wildlife reserve. Birds of prey with physical ailments that cannot be released into the wild are cared for in the park.

Detailed description

Adventurous family excursion in Mallorca: La Reserva natural park

A unique landscape with paradisial contrast, rich vegetation and free-living animals in an area of more than 2.5 million square meters: this is the nature reserve La Reserva del Galatzó in Mallorca. It's located below the mountain "Puig de Galatzó" in the center of Sierra de Tramuntana, which meanwhile is world cultural heritage of UNESCO. In the 17th centy, the area was owned by a mysterious noblemen, and during the time of the reconquest, the Mussulmans found a shelter in this mountains. Lots of wild animals, that are hurt and therefore cannot be returned to the wild, have found a new home in the nature park and can enjoy a happy life.

Discover the numerous birds of prey, like eagles, vultures or hawks, colorful peacocks, the brown bear, emus, donkeys, gooses, goats, wildcats and fallow dears. The natural park in Mallorca is the ideal place for hiking. During the 3.5 km long hike along a comfortable path, you can see more than 30 waterfalls. Later you'll reach a big rest area, where you either can make a barbecue yourself or fetch something to eat or to drink on the bar. They offer open sandwiches, cold and warm food and salads and also the possiblity to buy meat for grilling.

At the rest area, you can also find swings and two mountain swimmingpools for refreshment. This experience is ideal for families with children. La Reserva has a big, free parking area at the park entry in Puigpunyent.
