Booking option: Swimming with dolphins in São Miguel

Meeting point for our dolphin tour is the marina of Vila Franca do Campo. Here we check in and prepare the equipment. The expedition starts with a short briefing about native species, responsible practice of the activity, safety on board and the use of snorkeling equipment. We will be assisted by a searcher on shore to locate the dolphins.

As we cautiously approach the dolphins, our wildlife guide on board will assess where conditions are most favorable for dolphin swimming. Be ready to enter the water at all times! Each time two swimmers will take turns in the water in order to disturb or upset the dolphins as little as possible. After the dolphin swim, we will go to the coast to discover the characteristic marine fauna and flora on the seabed of the island.

You can swim with dolphins in the Azores regardless of your physical condition, as long as you can swim. The activity always depends on the sea and weather and on the assessment of our guide. Due to the turbulence on the boats, we do not recommend this tour for people with a weakened back or sensitive health, or for pregnant women or children under 4 years old.
