Due to the long way and the quite difficult climbing exercises over big rocks, the Platja des Coll Baix barely is visited - but all your struggles will be worth it when you reach the 220 m long, clean pebble beach. It is embedded in a stunning mountain panorama, the dazzling sea spreads out endlessly in front of you: With a little luck you can enjoy this beautiful beach of Majorca all alone and disconnect completely in this amazing landscape. The bright, fine sand gently passes into the water, quickly getting deeper after a few meters and allowing boats reach this beach as well. 8. Snorkling paradise with cave: Portals Vells in Calviá

Portals Vells: beach with a cave in Mallorca

Portals Vells is an exceptional beach at the south-west coast of Majorca easily accessible by car. It is loved by inhabitants and tourists but rarely is crowded, because it splits up into three little bays. If you go to the bay at the right side (Punta de Xisclet), you will find the caves „Ses coves de Mare de Déu" at the top corner of the coast, right next to the clean sand beach with clear, turquoise-blue water. You can reach the caves by foot or swim over. The caves were originally used by stranded seamen from Genua (Italy) in the middle of the 15th century, who built an altar for the virgin Mary as a reward for escaping a hurricane. The caves are pretty big and in the back part also a little dark and chilly, which is why visitors are walking the caves impressed and touched, wondering how the seamen lived here so many years ago. When you saw enough of the caves, don’t forget to snorkel through the stunningly beautiful bay to discover the colourful and varied underwater world.

We wish you a relaxed day at those exceptional, beautiful beaches of Majorca!
