Adventurous speedboat tour to the north coast of Mallorca - swimming at Playa Formentor

The 1.5-hour speedboat tour on Mallorca starts in Port de Pollenca. A first highlight is the departure from the modern harbour, which is one of the largest on the island and a mooring for impressive yachts from all over the world. The tour leads from there on the fastest way to the peninsula Formentor, which is a special piece of Mallorca and an ideal destination with attractive sights. This includes only the landscape with the impressive cliffs on one side and such wonderful beaches as Playa Formentor on the other. Fine, white sand and turquoise blue water give this extensive bay framed by pines a special reputation. Playa Formentor is especially popular with families. The water in this area is shallow and the section is ideal for a variety of water sports activities, paddling with small children, relaxing and sunbathing.

Before our swim stop we visit a cave of the peninsula and admire in this hidden world the stalactites as well as an empire created by the forces of nature. The cave at Racó de Xot on Formentor measures almost 100 metres in length. Two entrances are several meters above the sea in the steep face. A place of special charm and of special value because of some finds from prehistoric times. We go by boat through the Formentor Cave and let the atmosphere of this place affect us for a while before we return to daylight by sea and back to the route of the Mallorca speedboat tour.

Among the highlights of the half-day excursion are the impressive views of the landscape, the villas and the famous hotel of Formentor. Built in 1928 by art lover Adán Diehl, it has long been a meeting place for prominent personalities. From the water you can admire this ensemble in its full splendour. Here it is worth keeping the camera handy to create a snapshot for the holiday album. The equipment on board the speedboat includes snorkelling equipment, which you can take with you into the water during the swim break to discover the flora and fauna in the best view. Refreshed and with new impressions of Mallorca we start the return journey along the coast to the harbour of Port de Pollenca. The boat has room for 12 passengers and the skipper.
