Detailed description
Boat tour in the Algarve: Revel in nature
This goes down as one of the best things to do in Faro. Set off and make your way down the secret streams in the Ria Formosa Nature Park on a boat ride and marvel at the luscious landscapes that you're treated to from every angle. Get acquainted with a wide array of birds that call the salt marshes their home. You'll peek at birds like the gorgeous grey heron (Ardea cinerea) and the wonderful white stork (Ciconia ciconia) amongst others.
Flow along the curious coastline in the Algarve and set your eyes on the idyllic Ilha da Culatra lighthouse. Hop off and spend an hour seeing what the island has to serve up. You'll get to see the impact that the fishermen make on the area through the shellfish and oyster farms first-hand. Take a stroll around its streets and soak up the atmosphere in the quaint village. Before you know it, you'll find yourselves next to the furthest point south in Portugal - the Cabo de Santa Maria. Cast your eyes across to the market at Olhão and one of the most important entrances to the Ria Formosa.
Ilha Deserta is the next stop on the Algarve boat tour and you'll spend around half an hour there. Suss out what goes on there by going on a woodland walk or sitting and taking in the stunning sights whilst you grab a cup of something.
