Since the 400 hectares of dunes were declared a nature reserve, they’ve really taken off in the land of toursim. Let yourself be swayed through the sand on the back of the camels and revel in the desert-like vibes – it’s a truly special experience!

Get on 1 of the 35 dromedaries and find out its name before you set out on your Arabian-like adventure. The camel safari in Gran Canaria is loved by the little ones. If the time is right, you might be able to set your eyes on some calves! Camels have the most fabulously brown eyes with lashes that go on for days. Camel rides in The Canaries let you get a taste of the dessert without making it as far as Africa or the UAE.

Important information
  • Due to the high demand it is recommended to arrive before 11:00 pm in the camel camp and to redeem reservations. The best time for the ride is between 9:00 and 10:30 am.
  • Group rides are generally only possible between 9:00 am and 10:00 am from June to August.

Please bring a little patience to your camel trip. Due to the high demand in the season, there may be waiting times at the camel station - even if you have made a firm reservation.

Conditions

Valid on the reserved day or for 12 months after date of purchase if no date has been selected. You will receive the tour operator's details with the purchased ticket. A reservation is not required but we recommend checking opening hours before going on the tour/excursion.

Everything is perfect

All perfect, but to improve something I would give an exact time, as you lose the whole morning waiting for your turn.

An excellent experience

I’ve always wanted to ride a camel and now I can finally say I’ve done it. It was a lovely experience and I loved every minute of it.

Curious animals

They are the most curious animals and it was my first time getting so close to them. I was a bit nervous at first but now I just see them as desert donkeys or horses.

Nice experience with camels

Very nice experience, the animals very well cared for and treated. No need to go to the Middle East to experience camels, I highly recommend it!
