Detailed description
City Sightseeing Tour Along Barcelona's Most Important Sights
With a duration of half a day, this city tour is perfect for all visitors that only have a short amount of time for sightseeing in Barcelona. On the round trip, you'll get extensive information about the Catalan capital and visit its most famous sights. During the whole way, the professional guide will let you know all sorts of interesting facts about Barcelona.
No other building of the city attracts that many visitors as Barcelona's biggest construction site: the Sagrada Familia. Antoni Gaudi's basilica is under construction since 1882 and it shall be finished in 2026, at the 100th anniversary of his death. Today you can already see the architectural concept behind Gaudi's masterpiece of the Catalan modernism. The sunlight falling into through the windows bathes the room constantly in new colors. The gigantic inside vaults convey a supernatural force in the holy halls. Get even more impressed by the architecture of the living houses designed by Gaudi, that are located at Passeig de Gracia: The facade of Casa Batllo reminds of a dragon and Casa Mila is also called "pile of stones" due to its form.
The city, that turned away from the seaside until the 1990's, will show you its renewed face in the docklands: Modern buildings, artistic walkways and the restored, gothic shipyards at the end of the Rambla, in which nowadays and amonst others you can find a maritime museum, offer a varying quarter full of fantastic focal views. During the city tour in Barcelona, you'll also visit the local mountain Montjuic, from which you'll be able to enjoy incredible views over the coastal town. In the higher areas of the mountain, you can find the Olympic stadium and various parks. At the foot of Montjuic, the open-air museum Poble Espanyol invites you to take a look around the beautiful buildings of various stylistic eras from all areas of Spain.
