Detailed description

Climbing on Crete - guided tours near Agios Nikolaos (East)

The climbing sport on Crete has established itself. Sports climbers appreciate the island's mountain world with its varied routes, scenic contrasts and proximity to the sea. Climbing on Crete will take you high up and discover the charming places of the Greek holiday island in a sporty way. Especially the east of Crete offers exciting climbing routes. The guided tours near Agios Nikolaos lead to the sport climbing area Pezas. 12 kilometres away from the city, 4 boulders rise up into the sky, which are the destination of this climbing tour. Your tour guide knows the routes and the island and is a professional climber himself. Together with him you will find the suitable climbing route on Talos rock.

On 18 different routes (with difficulty levels from 4b to 8b+) you can conquer the rock of massive, non-slip limestone. The Crete climbing tour starts with a minimum of 4 participants and is available all year round. The Talos is so conveniently located that you can climb here practically at any time of the day or year.

The special feature of this climbing area is the panoramic view of Agios Nikolaos, which accompanies you on almost every route and motivates you in between. The climbing routes in the Pezas area are well equipped and are constantly being extended. Even if you come to Crete to climb as a beginner, you can join this tour. The necessary equipment is included. Like the other rocks of the Pezas, the Talos lies at an altitude of about 300 metres. From the top you have a fantastic view of Mirabello Bay and the peaks of Lasithi. Sightseeing is practically part of the tour program when climbing on Crete, if you are in the midst of the fantastic nature. This climbing trip also includes a small picnic of fruits and traditional delicacies from the Greek island.

Please plan between 4 and 6 hours for the climbing tour. The time window is used for rest on the rock, preparation, possible questions and relaxation after the ascent. Your guide will prepare you well for the tour and, if you wish, will polish your technique with you. Climbing on Crete is demanding, brings a lot of fun and is a great sport activity for your holiday.

Tour is worth it!

We already had a bit of experience in climbing and we enjoyed the tour very much. The guide gives good instructions and has scared my girlfriend. The picnic is simple, but it was still delicious.
