Booking option: Getting around Corfu and see the highlights

The first highlight of the great island tour of Corfu awaits us in Kanoni with the spectacular panoramic view over the Mouse Island and the Vlacherena Monastery, and the next stop is Corfu Town, one of the most attractive cities in Greece. You will see architectural and historical influences from Venetians, British, French and Greeks that have made Corfu Town very specific and different from any other town in Greece. You will see the largest square in the city, which was built under Venetian rule, and the Old and New Fortresses are also an impressive sight. Our stay in Corfu Town lasts about an hour.

Before leaving for the west coast, we stop at the Koum-kouat factory and spend about half an hour being inspired by local products such as Koum-kouat liqueur, wine, vinegar and olive oil. The landscape of Corfu passes us by as we cross the central part of the island to reach Paleokastritsa, one of the most beautiful and popular holiday resorts on the island. Here you have time to explore the area, visit the Panagia monastery or discover the beautiful caves on one of the traditional boats. The stay lasts about an hour.

A tour of the island of Corfu must include a viewpoint: Bella Vista. Located above Paleokastritsa, it offers an amazing view of the entire coastline. We want to linger in Lakones and stop off at a lovely restaurant to savour the island's traditional cuisine (approx. 1 hour). We continue our journey through the olive groves to Kassiopi. After a stop of around 45 minutes, we drive through the north-east of the island: we pass the villages of Kouloura (photo stop) and Kalami and the house of Lawrence Durrell and return to the starting point of the island tour via Nissaki, Barbati, Ipssos and Dassia.

Corfu island tour with the most important highlights in one day

Beauty usually comes unexpectedly and so first-time visitors to Corfu in particular are amazed by this very different Greek island. The cypresses, olives, the blue sea, the hospitality and the rich history may be little different from others - but Corfu is by far greener. This is mainly due to the wooded mountain slopes in the north and, of course, the millions of olive trees scattered across the island. The centre of the island, the west coast and the north take centre stage on our Corfu island tour. Starting from Corfu Town, we want to visit some of the highlights of this island and take time for one or two worthwhile stops.

The Corfu island tour starts for our guests with a pick-up from the hotel. This service is included for the larger holiday resorts in the south, south-east and parts of the centre of the island. The first stop is on the Kanoni peninsula. You can see the most famous sight of Corfu - the island of Pontikonissi (Mouse Island) and the monastery of Vlacherna. If you want to see some of the most beautiful corners and places within a day, the Corfu Island Tour is a good choice. Sights such as Corfu Town, the hilltop village of Lakones and, above all, the popular seaside resort of Paleokastritsa and Bella Vista together create a wonderful picture of Corfu.

If you want to savour the highlights of Corfu, you won't be able to avoid the island's viewpoints. Bella Vista is one of the best places to enjoy the panoramic views of the sea on the west coast. The viewpoint is located above another highlight of this Korf island tour: Paleokastritsa. The popular seaside resort with two peninsulas and five bays is one of the most beautiful on the island. Here you have free time to visit the Orthodox monastery from the 13th century or take the local boats to visit the caves with their turquoise-coloured water. We spend our lunch break enjoying the best views: in a local restaurant in Lakones. The panoramic view from the terrace will take your breath away.

Finally, we conquer the north and marvel at the mountain slopes and bays that accompany us on the north-south axis back to Corfu Town.

Great tour!

The Grand Corfu Island Tour was a delightful experience! Our guide was knowledgeable, and the air-conditioned bus was comfortable. The panoramic view from Kanoni was breathtaking, and exploring Corfu Town was enriching. Paleokastritsa's beauty is unmatched, and the local products were a treat. The restaurant stop in Lakones was charming, although I wish food was included in the price. Overall, a wonderful way to see Corfu's highlights.

decent tour but Achilleion Palace entrance fee not included!

nice sights in Corfu, but Achilleion Palace entrance fee not included. Bring plenty of water and snacks, as it's a long day.
