Twice a day, morning and afternoon, this pleasant sailing excursion departs from the Venetian port of Heraklion. We set sail for the island of Dia, a small paradise north of Heraklion. After an hour on the Mediterranean, we drop anchor in the tranquil bay of St George for our first swim. There will be time for sunbathing, a walk around the island or snorkelling in the bay (equipment included). Meanwhile, our crew will prepare a Greek meal of grilled chicken and rice with vegetables, Greek salad and invite you to join them. Finally, we say goodbye to the island of Dia and set sail for our return to Heraklion.

Sailing experience Crete: Half-day tour from Heraklion to Dia

Even on the windiest days of summer, it doesn't get stormy around Dia - which is another reason why this enchanting island is the destination of our half-day sailing excursion from Heraklion. Dia is a heavenly spot in the middle of the Aegean Sea, uninhabited, ecologically protected and with a long history as an ancient Minoan port. Protected species on Dia include snails, lizards, wild rabbits and the popular Cretan goat. We enjoy around an hour's sailing during the crossing from Heraklion and later on our return. There are only a few days a year when we can't open the sails of our yacht at all - usually we cover the distance with the power of the wind.

We combine this sailing trip off Crete with a nice time on and around the water, a light Greek meal on board and a walk on the small island paths of Dia. The bay of St. George is one of the calmest and most beautiful bathing spots around Crete. Lush, turquoise water with great depth of visibility awaits us. Appropriately, we provide the equipment for snorkelling. But we can also understand if you stay on board in the sun and simply enjoy this Greek setting. We stay firmly at anchor for around two and a half hours.

The sailing excursion from Heraklion departs twice a day. We offer one tour in the morning and one in the afternoon. The meal is included in each case and is freshly prepared on deck. Our sailboat has a licence for 10 passengers, so we sail in small groups each time. A sailing tour on a holiday in Crete provides unforgettable impressions and moments in any case.
