Dolphin watching at sea starts at dawn. On board our catamaran, you set sail early morning from the port of Cala Ratjada towards the east. The sea is still perfectly calm at this time and we have the opportunity to observe two very special phenomena that connect us with nature: the rising of the sun and the observation of dolphins in their natural habitat. The tour includes soft drinks and a small breakfast with coffee, tea and croissants on board.

Detailed description

Romantic excursion with the catamaran in Majorca

Watch dolphins in Majorca in their natural habitat - you can do this at this catamaran trip starting from the east coast of Majorca. The excursion starts at 6 am in the morning, when you're leaving the harbou of Cala Ratjada. The sea is calm and looks amazing. Slowly you sail out at sea and many times, the dolphins already swim in front of the catamaran, leading the way.

Either you just enjoy the presence of the playful animals, when they're showing themselves, or you hold ready a camera to capture this moment of the special encounter. During the catamaran trip, coffee, tea, soft drinks and a croissant will be served. At around 8.30 am you come back to the harbour of Cala Ratjada - a perfect time for a second breakfast, just when the harbour slowly awakes.

Okay, but different than expected

If you fancy a catamaran tour at sunrise, this is the activity for you! However, we were mainly looking forward to seeing the dolphins and only managed to see a few.
We started a little late at 6:15 a.m. Then we went out to sea for about 30-35 minutes. The water was beautiful, but there were no dolphins to be seen so far. Then one of the crew members spotted a dolphin and took the mobile phones of the passengers so that we could at least have a short video of a dolphin. All in all, we observed about 4-5 dolphins, which occasionally stuck a fin or nose out of the water. After 10 minutes of "dolphin watching", we went back to the coast at just after 7. For the next 60 minutes we sailed along the coast and arrived back in the harbour at 8:10 a.m. Unfortunately, there were no dolphins to be seen during this time.

Okay, aber anders als erwartet

Wer Lust auf eine Katamaran Tour im Sonnenaufgang hat, ist mit dieser Aktivität super beraten! Wir haben uns allerdings vorallem auf die Delfine gefreut und haben nur wenige zu Gesicht bekommen.
Gestartet sind wir etwas verspätet gegen 6:15. Dann ging es etwa 30-35 Minuten raus auf das Meer. Das Wasser war wunderschön, aber Delfine gab es bisher keine zu sehen. Dann hat eines der Crew-Mitglieder einen Delfin gesichtet, sich die Handys der Mitfahrenden abgeholt, damit man zumindest ein kurzes Video von einem Delfin hat. Insgesamt haben wir dann etwa 4-5 Delfine beobachtet, die hin und wieder eine Flosse oder die Nase aus dem Wasser gestreckt haben. Nach 10 Minuten "Delfin-Beobachtung" ging es dann um kurz nach 7 wieder zurück an die Küste. Die nächsten 60 Minuten schipperten wir dann die Küste entlag und liefen gegen 8:10 wieder im Hafen ein, von Delfinen war in dieser Zeit leider nichts mehr zu sehen.

Everything is great!

You have to get up early, but we put up with that. A great tour where you really see dolphins.

Man muss zwar früh aufstehen, aber das haben wir in Kauf genommen. Eine tolle Tour, bei der man wirklich Delfine sieht.

Highly recommended !!!

We did this tour on July 17th, 2020 and it was wonderful. Super nice crew and a captain with a lot of patience. We could see a lot of dolphins and of course the fantastic sunrise.

Wir haben diese Tour am 17.7.2020 gemacht und es war traumhaft schön. Super nette Crew und ein Kapitän mit sehr viel Geduld. Wir konnten viele Delfine sehen und natürlich den traumhaften Sonnenaufgang.
