Es Calderers Majorca

The history of the "Es Calderers" estate can be traced back to the year 1285 when the manor house is first mentioned in any historic archives for the first time, as an estate belonging to the Calderers family. In the 18th century the noble family Verí bought the entire estate.

The entire property includes the main building, secondary buildings, dog houses, and field, as well as barns, horse stables, and chicken coop.

Many native animals are held here, among them the well-known black pig from which the delicious Mallorcan "sobrasada" is made.

 In addition, various workshops such as the blacksmith with its historic tools, a bakery house, a shed, and a laundry room.

The main building is a typical example of a Mallorcan rustic villa. It is a three-storied building with a plain facade and an arched doorway. The building possesses a nice courtyard, called "sa clastra" in Mallorcan.

The estate of Es Calderers lies in the village of Sant Joan. It can be reached by driving along the main road leading from Palma to Manacor (exit and sign at kilometer, mark 37)
