Booking option: Balloon flight on Mallorca in a Eurowings jet balloon

Ready for take-off with the new Eurowings balloon on Mallorca. Probably the most spectacular balloon ride on the island. You take off from the airport in the centre of the island and explore the landscape from a height of up to 500 metres. And the best thing is: you can look out from anywhere, as there are no aeroplane windows. In August 2024, the balloon in Eurowings jet design was christened "Burgundy Dreams" and has been taking off on what is probably the most relaxing Mallorca flight ever since.

The filled M160 balloon measures eight storeys or 22 metres with a capacity of 4,500 cubic metres. At the side of our experienced crew, you can first help to set up the balloon or simply watch until everything is ready for the balloon flight and you take your standing position in the gondola. After the obligatory safety briefing, the hot air balloon lifts off gently and carries you over the vast landscape of the centre of the island. With a bit of luck, you may even see the neighbouring islands from above.

  • Participation in the balloon flight is not possible if you are pregnant.

To explain: the height of the balloon basket in which you stand during the flight is between 1.1 and 1.2 metres. If you look down along the edge of the basket, you will notice that there is no connected line to the ground in the extension, as is the case with skyscrapers, mountainsides or towers, for example. The low basket height is not as long as that of a house, for example, so that the human eye does not perceive it as tilting, which usually causes vertigo.

The Eurowings hot air balloon flight on Mallorca

An April Fool's joke learns to fly - just a few months ago, people thought it was a hoax when Eurowings announced that it would be travelling from Germany to Mallorca in a hot-air balloon in the future. But the response to the April Fool's joke was so great that at least the balloon became a reality. In Barcelona, the airline had a unique flying object designed in the style of a holiday plane: the cockpit at the front, the tail unit at the back and the wings on the sides.

The balloon has a capacity of more than 4,500 cubic metres and is eight storeys or more than 22 metres high. The gondola seats four to five passengers, who experience a very special round trip in the Eurowings hot air balloon on Mallorca. The "holiday plane" rises up to 500 metres above the centre of the island and offers a fantastic view of the vast landscape and, with a bit of luck, even of the neighbouring islands. The christening in August 2024 has already been followed by numerous trips.

The overall experience of the hot air balloon ride on Mallorca naturally also includes setting up the basket and filling the balloon. Passengers are welcome to give the crew a hand before taking to the skies as the sun rises. Evening flights are also possible on special occasions.

Conditions
