Along the coast we start the Gran Canaria Jeep Tour from the south to Agüimes with a visit to the historic old town and the famous caves in the valley of Guayadeque. On the Jeep Safari we will go further uphill. On the way to Pico de las Nieves we pass some beautiful mountain villages and see new landscapes. If the weather is fine, we enjoy the view from the Pico de las Nieves vantage point over the coast to Tenerife. Passing Roque Nublo we drive to Ayacata and stop for a delicious lunch (included). On our wonderful route we pass San Bartolomé and Fataga (valley of 1000 palm trees). We also have the opportunity to visit a winery before we return.

Option 2: Cabrio Jeep Safari to San Mateo (weekly market)

The jeep tour to San Mateo always takes place on Sundays, when there is the weekly market. The excursion starts with transfer from the south and leads us along the coast to the nature park Bandama, which is known for its impressive crater. We let the biggest volcanic crater of the island take effect at a stop before we continue our jeep tour towards San Mateo, past the city of Santa Brígida. In San Mateo we visit the famous weekly market and learn more about Canarian products and handicrafts.

After this short stop we continue to the Pico de la Nieves, the second highest point of the island. If the weather is fine, you can see the neighbouring island Tenerife and the famous Roque Nublo from the viewing platform. The Jeep Safari Gran Canaria leads us now in the direction of San Bartolomé and Fataga and through Ayacata. We have the possibility to visit a winery here.

Detailed description

Unique convertible jeep safari in Gran Canaria to the mountains

This experience is unique: Drive along the coast and over winding mountain roads on the Gran Canaria Jeep Safari from Maspalomas! Experience historic villages, the most beautiful views and the wonderful centre of the island up close - in the open convertible jeeps you always have the best view. Go by jeep to Pico de las Nieves. This unique Gran Canaria Jeep Tour from Maspalomas is a lot of fun due to the manageable group size!

If you are 18 years old and have a valid car driving licence (B1), you can drive one of the convertible jeeps yourself and enjoy the unique driving experience while visiting impressive vantage points. Marvel at Roque Nublo, the island's landmark, and learn more about this unique island from your guide. After starting in the south, the Gran Canaria Jeep Tour takes you first to Agüimes. The historic old town is just as worth seeing as the surroundings with the valley of Guayadeque. Even today, some of the caves where people used to live are still farmed there.

From there we continue to the Pico de las Nieves and the fantastic viewing platform, which gives us an unforgettable view - in good weather all the way to Tenerife. On the way to Ayacata we stop for a refreshing lunch (included) and return through the valley of 1000 palm trees to the starting point of our Gran Canaria Jeep Tour. Optional is a visit to a typical bodega in Gran Canaria. Once a week - always on sundays - the Jeep Safari in Gran Canaria takes another route - to the weekly market in San Mateo. There you experience how regional producers and craftsmen work. On the way to San Mateo we pass the nature park Bandama and admire at a stopover the biggest volcanic crater of Gran Canaria.

So much fun

I wanted to treat my husband for our anniversary, but I ended up having just as much fun as he did. We were cracked up. It was brilliant, and we’ll definitely do this kind of thing again.
