Detailed description

Discover La Gomera on a bus tour with lots of stops- sightseeing on the beautifully sunny island

You will be picked up by bus from the coastal region between Los Gigantes and El Medano and will then be taken to the port of Los Cristianos. From there the ferry crossing to San Sebastian de La Gomera takes about 50 minutes. The ferry trip to the second smallest of the Canary Islands is included in the price. Theres is plenty to experience on the La Gomera bus tour, which takes you through the national park and the Garajonay international nature reserve on La Gomera and then takes you through the most beautiful, tiny and picturesque villages and breath-taking landscapes. There will be repeated stops for photo opportunities at some of the amazing vantage points during the whole excursion on La Gomera.

You can look forward to the Mirador de San Sebastian and the Roque de Agando, a volcanic rock face that is over 1,000 meters high, which is an imposing and iconic symbol of La Gomera. Our excursion to La Gomera will mainly show you the centre of the island with the Garajonay National Park. UNESCO declared this green paradise a World Heritage Site in 1986. Inside the park there is a dense laurisilva forest, which seems like something out of a fairy tale. These were once very common 20 million years ago in the Mediterranean area and in North Africa.

The melting of the glaciers led to the disappearance of most laurisilva - but the plant still feels at home in the Canary Islands even today. And indeed, the laurel on La Gomera will enchant you with its abundance, so that it feels like you’re in another world in the nature park. We stop for lunch near the famous glass viewpoint of Mirador de Abrante, which offers a breath-taking panoramic view of the coast and sea. A regional 3-course menu including drinks is served in a beautiful restaurant. You will also be taken to a small demonstration of the traditional whistling language, which not many islanders can use any more. The sounds once helped people to communicate over long distances. The can hardly be any more picturesque setting for a village than where Los Chejelipes nestles in the landscape. We will discover the small oasis between palm groves and reservoirs and framed by the slopes of the Barranco de La Villa gorge.

Then you will take the air-conditioned bus back to San Sebastian de La Gomera. Follow the guide on a walk through the capital of the island while you learn many fascinating things about La Gomera. You will visit the Nuestra Señora de la Asunciòn cathedral and the picturesque Torre del Conde park, where you can also see the tower that belonged to the Duke who gave his name to this location. At the end of the varied La Gomera excursion we take the last ferry back to Tenerife.

Paradise Eden with some compromises

After being picked up at the hotel in sunny warm temperatures in Tenerife, we almost froze to death on La Gomera. We didn't know that you should take very warm clothes with you. I had not read about this anywhere. The bus driver didn't turn on the heating and the whole bus (most of us) was terribly cold all day. 50% of us didn't get off the bus because it was unbearably cold in parts, and then the tour guide dragged everything out. When he talked about dandelions in the forest at what felt like sub-zero temperatures before dinner, one or the other of us was shocked. The food was terrible, cheap canteen food that one would have gladly done without. Better to pack a snack with warm clothes. But for me, La Gomera is like the Garden of Eden. Fantastically beautiful. Hardly any tourism. Unspoilt nature. But unpredictable with the wind. If you are properly equipped and have another tour guide, it would be a trip to paradise.

Unfortunately too short

We were picked up very early at the hotel and then go on. We saw many beautiful corners and the lunch in between was good. The guide spoke German and gave many information. Abnnds went back the ferry. Unfortunately, the day was just too short to see everything and it was exhausting. Nevertheless, we would do the tour again.

Excellent!!

Actually I do not like so much the region of the Canary Islands but my boyfriend and if this year it was his turn to decide, I chose Tenerife: I never expected La Gomera to be such a spectacular place! It´s very different from everything I´ve seen in the Canary Islands before. This trip has been worth aa la z! The price is worth every penny we pay, the guide is professional in every moment and the landscape green and beautiful, fascinating. I discovered a new charming place. The next year we´re going to La Gomera!

Excelente!!

He descubeirto un nuevo lugar encantador.

excursion

We have taken the opportunity to make a trip to Tenerife Gomera, is indeed almost on the doorstep. The day trip went very well, handling smoothly, tour guide was very entertaining and has given us a lot of information. ME very worthwhile, we had a nice day and have the Canaries so relearned know a better place.

Tagesausflug
