Good to know for a helicopter flight on Mallorca
Can you fly in any weather?
The pilot is aware of his responsibility and obtains a flight weather report on every flight day, so it can also happen that he decides not to fly for safety reasons. As long as it is only raining lightly, this is not an obstacle. However, if it is too windy and visibility is impaired, the flight will probably not take place. Visibility must be at least 800 metres and the helicopter must fly below the cloud line.

What is the risk of nausea?
A helicopter does not react as strongly to turbulence as aeroplanes, so the likelihood of nausea is very low.
Is it advisable to fly if you are afraid of heights?
You can look up into the vastness of the sky and have a good all-round view. Similar to a balloon ride. The parapet height of the balloon basket in which you stand during the flight is between 1.1 and 1.2 metres. If you look down along the edge of the basket, you will notice that there is no connected line to the ground, as is the case with skyscrapers, mountainsides or towers. The low basket height is not as long as that of a house, for example, so that the human eye does not perceive it as tilting, which usually causes vertigo.
The helicopter also moves very smoothly in the air and, unlike flying in an aeroplane, there is no long take-off phase. In addition, the all-round view means you always have a horizontal perspective. It is not uncommon for people to overcome their fear of flying by taking a helicopter flight.
How loud is it in a helicopter?
As you already know from films, every passenger is given headphones with a microphone. On the one hand, this muffles the noise and, on the other, allows passengers to communicate better with each other. Radio traffic with the tower can also be monitored. Ask the pilot your questions about the region or about flying and use your flight to ask any questions you may have about flying as well as enjoying the fantastic view.
How safe is it to fly in a helicopter? Can something fail and what happens then?
All pilots and helicopters are regularly checked to ensure that you are safe in the helicopter. Should the propulsion system fail, the pilot can use the authorisation. The main rotor is then propelled by airflow. This keeps it manoeuvrable and allows it to sail to the nearest open area and land.
Can children fly with you?
You know your children best. The children should really want to fly and above all not be afraid of a helicopter, otherwise they may quickly become stressed and the flight will be exhausting for you too. Smaller children should always sit in a child seat. The flight is not recommended for babies.
