Detailed description

Fuerteventura day trip from Corralejo to the volcanoes of Lanzarote

The ferry crossing from Corralejo in Fuerteventura to Playa Blanca in Lanzarote takes barely half an hour. The two Canarian Islands are located close to each other and have also a lot in common. On both sides there are beautiful beaches and bays and the typical barrenness of these islands. However, the fire mountains of the Timanfaya National Park represent the highlight of Lanzarote alone. Those who are on holiday in Fuerteventura have the opportunity to get to know the neighbouring island. The day trip from Fuerteventura to the volcanoes of Lanzarote is an exciting undertaking and also very comfortable. In Corralejoyou will take the ferry directly to Playa Blanca. The resort is located in the south of Lanzarote. There an air-conditioned bus is waiting for you, with which you can go straight on to the fire mountains of the Timanfaya National Park. The entrance to this natural wonder is included in the price of the trip, as well as the ferry ticket and the bus tour.

The journey through the park is an spectacle: suddenly this barren landscape takes on an unexpected dimension. Three volcanic eruptions have created this unique lunar landscape, in which there is little more than dormant volcanoes and the different colours of rock and earth. The volcano route takes you to the information centre, where geothermal demonstrations demonstrate the forces of nature and make fountains of hot water suddenly shoot out of the ground. After a typical Canarian lunch, we continue to the vineyards of La Geria and taste the wine. Passing the Monumento del agricultor, we head to the Peñas del Chache (about 670 m), the highest peak in Lanzarote and the viewpoint of Guinate. We end our visit in Lanzarote at the Jameos del Agua before returning to Fuerteventura.
