A sea lion encounter of about 20 minutes awaits you in Caleta de Fuste. You will first be welcomed by the animal keepers and trainers at the edge of the pool and learn more about the friendly animals that live here in a seawater pool. With a small group of maximum 10 persons you will then go into the water. You will receive a wetsuit and a life jacket in advance. During the short swimming lesson the sea lions will show you some tricks and if you wish they will come as close to you as you want. The sea lions like to be stroked.

Swimming with sea lions on Fuerteventura is designed as an encounter. You can step into the seawater pool for about 20 minutes and accompany the small pack for a moment. For the sea lions, who were born in captivity and therefore could not (survive) in the wild, the daily training with the visitors is a welcome activity and entertainment. How much play and fun the sea lions' interaction ultimately leads to also depends on the animals' daily form.
The trainers of the small park have decided not to force the sea lions to do anything if they do not want to. Most of the time, however, the gentle seals are so lively that swimming with sea lions in Fuerteventura should be a unique experience for you. Before you enter the pool with the sea lions, you will be welcomed by the trainers and given some information on safety during the sea lion interaction. A wetsuit (optional) and a safety vest will be provided for each visitor. In a group of a maximum of 10 visitors, you will calmly and carefully enter the pool and thus the realm of the seals. Don't be surprised if a sea lion nudges them, jumps over their head or wants to kiss them. The sea lions love to be stroked and hardly show any fear of contact with humans. They are used to visitors.
During the sea lion encounter, the animal trainer will tell you more about the coexistence of the master swimmers, about their biology and about their amazing abilities. Swimming with sea lions in Fuerteventura is an activity for the whole family, especially for children this experience is a highlight of an island holiday. Swimming skills are not required for the sea lion encounter in Caleta de Fuste, which is why children from the age of 5 years are allowed to enter the pool with a safety vest. However, you must be accompanied by an adult up to the age of 12 years. But with the prospect of a unique encounter with the Fuerteventura sea lions, you will also want to be in the water.
