Detailed description

Take a boat to go snorkelling off Gran Canaria - a tour from Arguinegin in the south of the island

You don't need to dive that deep to explore the diverse underwater world of the Canary Islands. When you go snorkelling off the coast of Gran Canaria you can get the best views just a few centimetres below the surface of the water thanks to the superb visibility (even if you do go quite deep), the currents of the Atlantic Ocean and the geography of the seabed. Snorkelling is a pleasant and popular leisure activity for your holiday on Gran Canaria, especially if you do not (yet) have a diving permit. You can still see some of this wonderful marine world.

This snorkelling boat trip takes you from the marina at Arguinegin in the south of the island to a snorkelling location off the coast that is well worth a visit. The diving centre is located in the middle of a holiday resort on Anfi Beach. It will only take 5-10 minutes to get there in the dinghy, which has space for up to 10 participants and their diving instructors. Everything you need for your snorkelling tour on Gran Canaria is provided. Before you leave, your snorkelling guide will make sure you are fully briefed on this underwater sport and the snorkelling area. Snorkelling also has some particular things to bear in mind, especially with your breathing technique.

If you are going snorkelling for the first time on Gran Canaria, this guided tour from Arguinegin is a good choice to help you get started with this water sports activity. Snorkelling is easy to learn but is also immensely enriching. The underwater world off Gran Canaria is fascinating but different from what you might have expected from Spain. The Atlantic Ocean around Gran Canaria is rich in fish. Even at shallow depths you will come across some interesting flora and fauna, but the scenery that is only found on a volcanic island is particularly unusual. With a bit of luck you may snorkel past a turtle or see a monk fish swimming by.

The snorkelling trip off the south of Gran Canaria is also a great holiday experience for families. Children aged 8 and over can take part in this snorkelling tour by boat. The experienced crew of the diving school will make sure this snorkelling trip is safe and will also join you underwater. The total time snorkelling comes to about 50 minutes. Once you get back to the surface after exploring the sea, the boat will take you back to the marina, where you can round off your day on one of Gran Canaria’s most beautiful beaches.
