Sintra Hiking: On the most beautiful trails of the Sierra de Sintra
Discover the Sierra de Sintra Nature Park, close to the famous village of Sintra. Sintra is the former summer residence of the Portuguese kings, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a few kilometres outside Lisbon.
The Sierra de Sintra Nature Park is one of Portugal's 13 nature parks. It was not until 1994 that the Portuguese government designated it as a nature park, and since 1981 it has also been a nature reserve. Its area is about 145 km² and includes the Serra de Sintra mountain range. It stretches to the coast and Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of continental Europe. The Sintra-Cascais Nature Park is about 25 km from Lisbon and its many different historical and natural sights and attractions are also ideal for exploring on foot.
You can be picked up at the Sintra, Cascais and Estoril locations. These two rustic coastal towns are only 20 minutes from Lisbon and can be reached in a short time by a train that runs close to the sea.
Sintra Hiking is a hike through the forest of Sintra with low to medium difficulty. A beautiful, quiet experience in harmony with nature. Walking through unspoilt forests also offers surprising, fulfilling views across the Atlantic, which are also one of the highlights of this day.
