When and where is the best place for a holiday with a diving course in Mallorca?

Mallorca offers the ideal conditions for a holiday with a diving course from May to October. In May, the water temperature is around 17 degrees, rising to 23 degrees by October. As diving is generally only done with a wetsuit, you don't need to worry about freezing in the water in May either. The island is generally very crowded in July and August, so we recommend September and October as the best time for a relaxed holiday with a diving course. The internationally recognised "Open Water Diver" (OWD) diving course can be completed in 3-5 days with approx. 4 hours per day during your holiday. This still leaves enough time to explore the island with friends and family or simply relax and unwind. A large number of diving schools can be found in the south and south-west of the island, as some of Mallorca's most beautiful diving spots are just a short distance away. The south-west is also very scenic, the sea and mountains are close together and the region offers a well-developed infrastructure.

Do I need to prepare anything for a holiday with a diving course in Mallorca?

Please remember to make an appointment with a diving doctor before the start of your holiday. Every prospective diver must undergo a so-called diving fitness test in advance. This will determine whether your body can withstand the demands under water without any problems. Normally (if you are generally healthy and have no problems with your heart, ears, lungs or sinuses), the examination is a mere formality and you will then receive the diving certificate, which is required by every diving school before starting the course. The practical side of the diving course is that theory and practice can be completed separately. After registering for the diving course, you can use the internationally standardised German online teaching materials to read the theoretical part at home and answer the theory questions. This allows you to prepare well in advance for the diving course on holiday and only have to take part in the practical exercises and explore the underwater world during your holiday.
