In a red double-decker bus: sightseeing in Funchal on Madeira
With a bus route and 21 stops throughout Funchal, you will have the opportunity to explore the beautiful surroundings of the capital of Madeira. You can create your own itinerary and enjoy the facets of Funchal according to your individual taste. You can board the double-decker bus at the Avenida do Mar bus stop and learn about the Portuguese city of Funchal through a multilingual audio guide. The first stop is Praça do Povo at the 2nd stop, a huge square full of palm trees and seating from where you can watch the hustle and bustle. If you want to see Funchal from above, you should try the famous Teleférico cable car at the third stop to admire the breathtaking view.
At the 7th stop wine lovers should visit the Madeira Wine Lodge and book a guided tour through one of the best wine cellars. Or visit the Madeira Casino at the 8th stop and try your luck. Don't miss the 18th century São Martinho church at the 10th stop! An ideal place to shop and buy great souvenirs is Fórum Madeira, which is located at the 13th stop.
