Detailed description

Island tour Lanzarote

The best way to get to know the places that have made Lanzarote a world famous destination is to take the Gran Tour. On our island tour of Lanzarote we will delve deep into what makes Lanzarote so special, its volcanic nature full of contrasts that only a genius artist named César Manrique was able to see. Starting from the coast, we stop at the small coastal town of El Golfo. From here we will take a pleasant walk to a spectacular tidal volcano, where we will find El Charco de los Clicos, a small lake with a deep green colour that testifies to the microfauna that populates the island's waters. Our route takes us a little further south to admire the fantastic volcanic landscape.

Before entering the Timanfaya National Park, we will have the opportunity to do something fun for both children and adults: a camel ride (*optional). Our excursion will take us along the Avenue of the Volcanoes into the interior of Timanfaya National Park, where we will see different types of craters in different colours, reflecting the origin of the eruption, the material ejected or even the intensity of the explosion. We will verify the traces of these eruptions, which took place almost 300 years ago, through geothermal demonstrations, i.e. we will see the heat that is still emitted from the volcanic crater.

Time to refuel: our next stop is for lunch (optional*) in the small village of Mancha Blanca, near the church of Los Dolores (Virgen de los Volcanes), the patron saint of Lanzarote. On the way we will cross one of the most beautiful valleys on the island of Lanzarote, the village of Haría, known as the "Valley of a Thousand Palms". There is a beautiful tradition around the myth of the palm trees. We continue along the slopes of the impressive Corona volcano towards the coast to the Jameos del Agua, not forgetting to make a photo stop at the Los Helechos viewpoint with its breathtaking views of the north coast of Lanzarote.

As a final highlight, we will visit the spectacular volcanic cave of Jameos del Agua, which has been transformed by the Lanzarote artist "César Manrique" in order to show the visitor a space for contemplating nature with little human intervention.
