Detailed description

Through the Sintra-Cascais Nature Park to the summer residence of the Portuguese kings

With the two Jeep Safaris Sintra Jeep Safari and Sintra Jeep & Surf you discover the place Sintra, the former summer residence of the Portuguese kings, which belongs to the world cultural heritage of Unesco and lies a little outside of Lisbon. You will visit the Pena Palace and can see the historical centre.

Your jeep tour takes you through the Sintra-Cascais Nature Park. It is one of Portugal's 13 nature parks. It was not until 1994 that the Portuguese government designated it as a nature park, and since 1981 it has also been a nature reserve. Its area is about 145 km² and includes the Serra de Sintra mountain range. It extends to the coast and to Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of continental Europe, which you will also visit. The Sintra-Cascais Natural Park is 25 km from Lisbon and its many different historical and natural sites and attractions are ideal to explore by jeep. You can be picked up at the Cascais and Estoril locations. These two rustic coastal towns are only 20 minutes from Lisbon and can be reached in a short time by a train that runs along the sea.

Jeep safari through the Arrábida Mountains and boat tour for dolphin watching

The Arrábida Nature Park offers incomparable opportunities for jeep tours, as the regional vegetation seems to flow over its cliffs into the Atlantic Ocean. It is one of the most beautiful and fascinating natural landscapes of the Mediterranean and has remained virtually untouched in its natural balance - a preserved example of primitive Mediterranean vegetation. The formations go back over 180 million years. The soil and the mild climate, which is considered the best in Portugal, have produced a rich and abundant fauna and flora.
During the safari through the mountains on the best slopes you will enjoy the incredible view and may even find dinosaur tracks in the limestone rocks, making this tour a truly unique experience.

The jeep tour is followed by a search for dolphin communities in their natural habitat. The area at the mouth of the river Sado is known as a natural habitat for dolphins (porpoises), which use the conditions there for eating, resting and socializing. During this activity many other animals can also be observed - such as common dolphins or minke whales. The boat trip is carried out with an exceptional catamaran, which brings you close to the marine mammals.
