Water sports on the Costa Verde: Jet skiing without a driving licence on the coast of Gijón
Even if you should have only eyes for the sea and the waves during the journey, the scenery for your jet ski adventure on the Costa Verde could not be nicer: long fine sandy beaches, the old town of Gijón, the well formed bays and the gentle hills of the city. Discover a fantastic stretch of coast on the Cantabrian Sea during this fast-paced experience. The Costa Verde is the coastal area of Asturias and is regarded as the green Spain. This picture will be confirmed from the water. On the waters of the capital Gijón you can also go jet skiing without a driving licence and thus experience a great water sport on the Costa Verde. For the 1-hour tour on the Atlantic Ocean no previous knowledge is required. You will learn everything you need to know about jet skiing and how to handle a watercraft during the professional briefing. A service monitor informs you during the tour about the exact route and other important information.
For orientation, there is also the Elogio del Horizonte sculpture, visible from afar, which was erected on a plateau on the steep coast of Gijón and is now considered the landmark of the coastal city. If you take the jet ski along the route of the tour, you will not be able to avoid it. But also the green hills to the right and left of the city will be good signposts for you. Half way you can also take a break for a swim and, if you are two people on a jet ski, change the driver (minimum age 16 years for the driver). Before departure you will also receive the necessary equipment for your jet ski tour in Gijón. A wetsuit and life jacket are mandatory. The Jetski, a well motorized Seadoo, is refueled.
Thanks to the mild climate, jet skiing on the Costa Verde is also possible in late autumn and early spring. The region, which is an appreciated holiday destination among the Spaniards, is not subject to such serious temperature fluctuations thanks to the Atlantic current as it is known from the middle of the country. No matter when you spend your holiday on the Costa Verde: if you feel like an adventure, take a jet ski tour in Gijón, accelerate on the water and let the sea breeze blow around your nose.
