Kick off the family-friendly Lanzarote sightseeing tour with a visit to Timanfaya National Park, where you will be able to witness geothermal experiments that show temperatures between 50 and 600 degrees Celsius just a few metres below the earth's surface. From here we will take our 14-seat minibus along the Route of the Volcanoes, where you can enjoy one of the most spectacular lunar landscapes on the island. Before leaving the National Park we stop for a break at the camel base. Guests can take a camel ride here on request (costs not included). Our Lanzarote South tour finally continues towards the volcanic coast, where we stop for a photo stop at the cliffs of Los Hervideros and the impressive volcano El Golfo. Microscopically small algae make the water of the lagoon appear almost fluorescent green. Then we continue into the protected landscape of La Geria, the most famous wine growing area of the island. The way the winegrowers plant the vines in the volcanic soil is impressive. Those who wish can also taste local wines during a photo stop.

Detailed description

Half day tour in the south of Lanzarote with visiting Timanfaya Park, El Golfo & La Geria

Enjoy the highlights of the south of the island on this Lanzarote tour by minibus. Feel the heat of the earth and the temperament of the volcanic landscape in Timanfaya National Park, see the green lagoon El Golfo and the Timanfaya coast offering views of the Salinas and the beach of Janubio. And look forward to the impressive wine landscape of La Geria, a visit we can celebrate with a tasting of Malvasia wine. The Lanzarote south tour lasts about five hours and is individual and family friendly. We will travel in an air-conditioned van with a maximum capacity of 14 passengers and will make no commercial stops during the tour. The transfer from the tourist regions of Puerto del Carmen, Costa Teguise, Playa Blanca and Arrecife is included. The service includes not only the hotel pick up, but also the assistance of our local guide.

If you visit the south of Lanzarote, you don't want to and cannot pass by Timanfaya National Park. The volcano tour on Lanzarote is a unique experience and makes you wonderfully familiar with the conditions of this island. The high temperatures in the ground are even used for cooking. We will watch geothermal experiments in the National Park and experience how much steam is slumbering under the earth's surface. The name of the restaurant El Diablo, designed by César Manrique and located in the visitor centre, fits in well with this. There you can have a coffee or simply enjoy the view before our panoramic tour of the volcanic landscape in Timanfaya Park begins. There will be a short stop at the camel farm afterwards. If you wish, you can take a short ride with the fascinating animals (not included).

One of the little wonders of the island and another highlight of our Lanzarote excursion is the "Puddle of Clicos", the green lagoon at the volcano El Golfo. There we plan a photo stop of about 20 minutes, which you can use for a short walk. Back in our minibus you have the possibility to send your travel photos directly thanks to the Wlan access. On the way to La Geria we enjoy the coastal road of Timanfaya and the view of the salt fields of Janubio, formerly the most important salt flats of the Canary Islands. Those who are interested in the wine growing and vine cultivation on Lanzarote will be amazed in La Geria. The winegrowers have developed a special method to grow wine in the volcanic landscape. On request we can taste a typical Lanzarote wine (not included).

Before we finish our half day Lanzarote South tour, we take the path to the cliffs of Los Hervideros, where the sea breaks and a visual spectacle of great beauty is created. Again, we want to listen to the sound of the sea for about 20 minutes and take some photos before we return to the starting point of our Lanzarote tour.
