Your day trip in Tuscany starts with a welcome and a short introduction at the equestrian farm in Sorano. Here you get to know your guide and the horses. On dirt roads between vineyards and olive groves you ride the first stretch to the forest. From there it goes downhill to the river Lente, which is crossed several times during the tour. From the valley you ride up the hills of the Maremma and then northwest to the endless vineyards of the Antinori estate. Finally you will reach the Etruscan temple of Ildebranda, where you will pass the unique'Vie Cave' ravines by horse and stop for lunch. The picnic is taken in the saddlebags. There is regional cheese, cold cuts, vegetables, eggs and also a cup of homemade wine. Along with bread, water and coffee. After dinner it is possible to visit the necropolis. Day ride on the tracks of the Etruscans - on horseback through the Maremma in Tuscany

The Maremma in Tuscany is a dream destination for riders: a varied, soft landscape with hills and fields, with history and adventure and the "cowboys" of the Maremma: the Butteri. Even today whole herds of cattle are still herded by the mounted shepherds. So you're in good company on this ride of several hours from Sorano. On horseback you can follow the ancient Etruscan paths that have left so many impressive traces in Tuscany - especially in the archaeological park of Sovana. Those who ride their horses through the Maremma in Italy will learn to love this traditional region. The experience of nature between forest and sea and the tranquillity are two trumps of this unique region in the south of Tuscany. Sightseeing and adventure can be wonderfully combined on numerous historic routes during the riding holidays in the Maremma.

Your day ride starts in the morning (the exact times depend on the season) from the horse farm in Sorano, where you will first be welcomed and familiarized with the daily routine and the horses. The animals are well trained and of a relaxed nature. In the saddle, you will pass fields and olive groves before descending to the river, which you will cross several times with your horse, before riding up the hills and enjoying a wonderful view over the Maremma. Included in this ride in Tuscany is a picnic with Italian products and a good house wine. Provisions are stored in the saddlebags. In summer there is also space for hammocks for a small siesta under trees.

During the lunch break you have the opportunity to visit the Tomba Ildebranda tomb. It is the largest temple grave of the Etruscans still preserved. On the way there you will pass the unique Vie Cave ravines, which were dug into the tuff centuries ago and are sometimes up to 15 metres deep. Even today, many of these mysterious paths connect the sites of the archaeological tuff park of Sovana. After this excursion into history, we return to the riding school along the wild paths of the Maremma and through the natural riverbed of the Lente. You will spend about 4.5 hours of this riding trip in the saddle on the way there and back and get to know the heart of Tuscany.
