Detailed description

Culinary Market Tour in Thessaloniki: Eating like the Greeks

Join us on a delicious culinary market tour in Thessaloniki for a maximum of 12 people and visit the stalls with the most delicious specialities of the country for 4 hours. The English-speaking tour guide will take you to the booths where you can taste things like bougatsa and koulouri, special bread rings with sesame seeds or meze, a colourful starter plate. Of course, olives, cheese and sweets are also available. As far as drinks are concerned, the culinary market tour in Thessaloniki begins with a freshly brewed cup of coffee, and there is no getting around an ouzo.

After leaving Aristotle Square after a cup of coffee with your guide in the direction of the commercial districts and tasting the delicious breads on the way, you will learn a lot about the history of Greece. Koulouri as bread alone or Bougatsa, when filled or topped with cream, spinach, cheese, chopped meat and much more, date back to the Byzantine period. For your own dishes, you can shop as you please in the two most famous open-air marketplaces in Thessaloniki. Don't forget your bags or backpacks!

Finally arrived with the culinary market tour in Thessaloniki on the Athonos Square you will be amazed at the traditional distilleries and local pubs. Together with the guide you will enter one of the best distilleries and taste an Ouzo or Tsipouro, both typical local drinks. You will also be served meze. For a sweet end and as a digestive aid, visit a pastry shop and snack a little Siropiasta, a syrup delicacy made according to the original recipe of the Greek refugees from Asia.

A good mixture

Conventional city tour with tasting and snacking. I think that's a good mix and would book the tour again. Sunbonoo's customer service was also good.

Eine gute Mischung

Konventionelle Stadtführung mit Degustation und Naschen. Ich finde, das ist eine gute Mischung und würde die Tour noch mal buchen. Auch der Kundenservice von sunbonoo war gut.

Good tour but a minus point

My school English wasn't always good enough to understand what we were being given to try. Most of it tasted good anyway.

Gute Tour aber eine Minuspunkt

Mein Schulenglisch reichte nicht immer aus, um zu verstehen, was uns da zum Probieren gereicht wurde. Geschmeckt hat das meiste dennoch.
