This 2.5 hour excursion combines sightseeing along the beautiful Algarve coastline with a challenging kayak paddle. Starting from Portimão, we glide along the coast to Albandeira, where we stop and launch the kayaks. Refreshed and having learnt the most important paddling techniques, we head off to the Benagil Cave. On the way we will pass many caves and our guides are always ready to tell you more about this beautiful coast, some of the highlights are the Captain's Cave, the Barranco Beach, the Paradise Cave, the Heart Cave, the Elephant Cave, the Doll Cave and the Cathedral Cave. If you get tired on the way, you can simply return to the catamaran and relax on deck (toilets on board). The Benagil Caves tour from Portimão is accompanied by two experienced guides.

By catamaran and kayak to the Benagil caves on the Algarve coast

Much of the Algarve is simply marvellous: beaches, coastline, weather. A holiday region with true abundance. With more than 300 days of sunshine, the south of the Portuguese mainland is the absolute leader in Europe. And there are so many more reasons why the Algarve is the perfect destination for a holiday by the sea. The Benagil Cave has become an absolute must-see among the many attractions. Under the dome-shaped ceiling, a space has formed over millions of years that is actually reminiscent of a cathedral. Light shines through the openings in the dome at any time of day, making the rock and sand glow in golden tones. Enjoy the other amazing vaults and caves on our approximately 2.5-hour excursion with boat trip and kayaking on the famous Benagil coast. The so-called rocky Algarve surprises with a number of hideaways, coves and beaches.

We start our Benagil cave tour with a briefing at the base in Portimão. The kayaks and other equipment will already be stowed on our catamaran so that we can glide directly eastwards along the coast. The landscape with the sometimes shimmering golden rocks that almost protect the bays and lagoons is magnificent. Add to this the rocks from which nature has moulded sculptures over the centuries and the shimmering Atlantic Ocean in many shades of blue. This spectacular scenery is particularly spectacular from the water. Our kayak trip takes us to the natural wonder of Benagil. The light-flooded cave, which is only accessible from the water, lies under a wide arch of stone. If the sea conditions allow, we will be able to go inside and see the hidden beach.
