Detailed description

Sailing around Santorini - boat trip to the hot springs and red beaches

In Vlichada on the south coast your 5-hour Santorini boat tour starts on board of a traditional, noble wooden sailing ship. The "Kaiki", typical for this region, measures 38 feet and will take you to the sights around the magical island. Santorini is considered to be perhaps the most beautiful paradise in the Aegean, which is mainly due to the whitewashed houses built on the slopes and the blue domes of the churches and chapels, which shine so beautifully in the wonderful island light. But also the serenity and hospitality of the Greeks and the donkeys who carry visitors up from the harbours to the small villages. On and around the enchanting island in the southern Aegean there are some wonderful natural spectacles to discover. Santorini is known for its volcanic tours and for its black, white or red pebble beaches, which are also a legacy of volcanic activities.

The 5-hour Santorini sailing trip takes you from the port of Vlichada to these famous beaches, past the famous Akrotiri lighthouse, an imposing rock landmark on the island. Among Santorini's attractions are the hot thermal springs that flow below the volcano of Palea Kamini and create a pleasant climate in the water for bathers. The archipelago belongs like the neighbouring island Nea Kamini to the forerunners of Santorini. Finally, in the north of the island, the picturesque Amoudi beach awaits you, which is the photo motif of Santorini for many holidaymakers. How the rich turquoise blue water lies on the cliffs of volcanic rocks is unique. An ideal spot for swimming and snorkeling. Thirasia is another island on the boat trip around Santorini with a nature scenery worth seeing.

The Sunset Cruise has the same route points as the day cruise, only in reverse order and with start in the old harbour of Ammoudi at the north coast. From there it goes over the volcanic archipelagos down to the south coast. The sunset, so the islanders say, is nowhere more beautiful than there. Both the day trip and the boat trip in the evening include the transfer from the hotel to the harbour and from there back again. The standard equipment includes snorkelling equipment, which you can use during the swimming breaks. Maps and information about the island are also included in the price. While the day trip includes lunch on board, the sunset trip includes dinner. Grilled chicken skewers, hot dogs, tzatziki, stuffed vine leaves and salad are prepared. Soft drinks and white wine are included.

I am interested in old sailors

The construction, the stories of the ships etc. The boat on this trip is very interesting because of the old construction (hull in wood). You don't get to see that much anymore.
