Detailed description

Sightseeing in Fairyland - Sintra City Tour in Hop-on-/Hop-off-Bus

Take a Sintra sightseeing tour of the fairytale palaces and parks of the small town west of Lisbon. Embedded in the Sierra Sintra and with many beautiful sights on smallest space the holiday resort belongs to the most popular destinations in Portugal. The Sintra Sightseeing in the Hop-on/Hop-off Bus is comfortable and flexible. You can discover the picturesque city on 2 routes and get on and off at 16 different stops. Take your time to admire the venerable National Palace and its impressive Gothic architecture. Once you have marvelled at the extravagant Peno Palace, designed by King Ferdinand, you will find peace and relaxation in the magical forests of Portão dos Lagos (stop 3). Or take the Red Line directly to the westernmost point of mainland Europe - Cabo da Roca - and hike on the headland by the sea.

If Sintra Sightseeing reminds you of a fairy tale, you are not alone. The colours and architecture of Romanticism make this place an enchanted gem. The elite of Portugal has let off steam here. Many extravagant houses have been built and still speak today for aesthetics and love of art. Sintra alone gathers 10 national monuments of Portugal, in addition to paradisiacal villas and gardens, the ruins of castles and palaces. The often playful design is framed by the landscape of the Sintra-Cascais Nature Park: hills, forests, cliffs.

A Sintra day trip from Lisbon or any other holiday resort is almost too short to see all that is enchanting. Especially in summer Sintra is the destination of many visitors. A Sintra sightseeing tour needs to be well planned. In the Hop-on/Hop-off bus, you can first take your time to take a tour of the city and decide where you would like to stop according to the time of day and your mood. If you love wine, the Colares wine cellar would be a good address, if you want to go to the Atlantic Ocean, then to the big beach (Praia Grande) and if you are especially interested in culture and history, get off at the Palácio da Quinta da Regaleira (world culture). Both the red and blue lines end in the historic centre of Sintra, where you can continue your tour of the small cobbled streets.

Hop-off definitely has something... even on a city tour!

We always took our time getting in and out. This was probably not well received by some holiday guests. Why? Don't you have time and patience even when you're on vacation? In any case, it is probably an environmentally friendly way of sightseeing. Right after walking!

Beach, nature, landscape - everything is included in this tour.

We chose the red route and didn't regret it! We are particularly fond of the large beach Praia Grande. We've been doing it for years whenever we visit a new place. First on the HopOn Bus and get an overview.

A city from a fairy tale

Since the distances are relatively long, the bus is absolutely worth it

Eine Stadt aus dem Märchen

Da die Entfernungen relativ groß sind, lohnt sich der Bus absolut
