Detailed description

Snorkeling on Gran Canaria - guided tour at Playa de las Canteras

Playa de las Canteras is one of the most popular beach resorts on Gran Canaria. Three kilometres of the most beautiful coastline with golden sand and water that is usually as smooth as a mirror at a temperature of at least 20 degrees. It is ideal for families with children, people who like swimming in the sea and water sports enthusiasts. And this area off the north of the island also has some unique features under the surface of the water. The sheltered location behind the large "La Barra" reef that runs parallel to the beach gives many exotic animals and plants an ideal habitat that you can discover if you go snorkelling off Gran Canaria.

You will go swimming off Las Palmas in the company of of an experienced guide for about 1.5 hours and get a close look at the colourful wildlife in the Atlantic. You will be given all of the equipment you need from a wetsuit and diving goggles to the snorkel and have someone by your side who also knows the history, geology and biology of this unique marine biotope very well. Join them as you learn the names of the amazing fish and plants that you encounter on this guided tour off Las Palmas.

Children who are 8 and over can join the snorkelling excursion if they are accompanied by an adult. No previous knowledge is required if you want to go snorkelling off Gran Canaria, but children should be able to swim. Anyone who wants to make their underwater experience on Gran Canaria even more adventurous should book the night tour. This starts in the evening and ends just before midnight. Snorkelling in the dark is a whole new experience. The underwater area is lit up with a beam of light so that you can observe the nocturnal inhabitants of the sea.

The pleasure of snorkelling and diving of Gran Canaria comes from being surrounded by so much water with great visibility at depth. With more than 200 kilometres of coastline, there are also wonderful spots right around the island that are suitable for water sports and welcome visitors with a wealth of things to see. Whether it is the lush fields of marine plants or the colourful fish that go hunting on the seabed. Snorkelling off Gran Canaria is a great way to get your first taste of the fascinating world underwater, even if you don’t have a diving permit

I never had the experience of going out at Night to the Sea, on the one hand it gives a little fear but it was excellent in everything!

de Noche lo mas!

Nunca tubo la Experiencia de salir de Noche al Mar, por un lado da un poco de Miedo pero fue escelente en todo!

Completely different experience

It is a very different experience at night to snorkel and therefore more exciting than the ´´ normal ´´ snorkeling during the day.

Ganz andere Erfahrung

Es ist mal eine ganz andere Erfahrung nachts zu schnorcheln und dadurch auch spannender als das ''normale'' Schnorcheln am Tag.
