Climbing the Teide in Tenerife

Everyone who comes to the Teide gets palpitations. Not only because of the strenuous climb, but also because of the breathtaking scenery. Almost at cloud level, the view opens up to a volcanic landscape as bizarre as it is beautiful. Experience a Teide hike in Tenerife and climb the summit region of Spain's highest mountain with an experienced hiking guide. The challenging Teide hike begins at an altitude of 3,555 meters (the top of the cable car) and follows the moderate Telesforo Bravo trail. Caution and surefootedness are required on the one-hour hike through the pumice gravel zone.

The Teide hike is, of course, far from an insider tip - in fact, it is almost a must to climb this mountain on a hiking vacation. Climbing the center and landmark of the island is literally the highlight of a Tenerife vacation. As sublime as the peak towers above everything else, as sublime is the feeling of standing at the top and looking out over this beautiful landscape.

The Teide hike in Tenerife is a day trip. Please be prepared for the several hour hike: In addition to sturdy shoes that will carry you safely over scree and volcanic ash, good sun protection is essential. It is also advisable to bring warm clothing for the higher altitudes. It can get very cold and windy in the mountains.

Breathtaking Teide hike experience

I recently embarked on the Teide hike on Tenerife, and it was a truly breathtaking experience. The journey to the summit was challenging but incredibly rewarding. The views from the top were absolutely stunning, making the effort well worth it. The cable car ride provided a comfortable start, and our guide was knowledgeable and engaging, sharing fascinating insights about the volcanic landscape. Make sure to bring plenty of water and sun protection, as the sun can be quite intense even at higher altitudes. Overall, it was a memorable adventure and a must-do for anyone visiting Tenerife!

Perfect day above the clouds

An epic day out. Everything was perfect thanks to our wonderful guide Maria. Maria was knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and looked after the six of us in her group. The altitude can make the short but steep hike challenging but the cable car does most of the work. Highly recommended. Thanks again Maria.
