You will enjoy a guided experience through the starry world of the Teide National Park - one of the best places in the world for astronomical observations. 83 of the officially known star constellations (88) are visible above Teide when the sky is clear.In summer you can also see the Milky Way. At the base station of the Teide cable car you will meet your certified star guide.  At an altitude of 2.536 m you can observe the stellar sky through precise and highly modern telescopes with a long range. The guide will explain to you how to orientate yourself in the starry sky and if you have always been interested in Greek mythology, you will also be introduced to the elements of Hellenic mythology behind the star constellations and their connections to each other. Discover planets, galaxies and star clusters while stargazing in Tenerife. The activity lasts about one hour.

Stargazing at Mount Teide on Tenerife

If you want to watch stars on Tenerife, the best place to go is where you feel closest to them: at the Teide. We invite you to look for stars on Tenerife at an altitude of more than 2500 metres. The largest Canary Island in the Atlantic Ocean is considered the top spot for astronomical observations worldwide. The national park has even been certified as a privileged place for stargazing on Tenerife. This is partly due to the altitude, but mainly to the low light pollution on Tenerife. There are few disturbing sources when the stars appear in the sky at dusk.

With our certified star guide we go on a fantastic journey through the galaxies above the Teide. Equipped with modern and powerful telescopes, we observe the starry sky with its numerous celestial bodies and star clusters from the valley station of the Teide cable car. If you are interested in astronomy, Tenerife offers the best chances to see more of this mysterious universe. On a clear day, the sky above Teide reveals 83 of the 88 officially known constellations. Thanks to the professional night telescopes through which you will look during this stargazing tour, you will be able to observe a multitude of celestial bodies.

During the approximately 1-hour astronomical tour you will also learn how to orientate yourself on the starry sky over Tenerife and how earlier civilisations did it. Our guide will tell you which star shines especially brightly or seems especially big. In addition, this astronomy tour includes the nocturnal fascination of the volcanic landscape in the Teide National Park. A unique experience for all those who want to look at stars on Tenerife. Stargazin on Tenerife is possible almost all year round - the best time to see the Milky Way is from June to September. Shooting stars can also be seen more often then. But also in other seasons a glittering starry sky reveals itself above the Teide.
