Formentor tour in Mallorca with weekly market visit and Puerto Pollensa

Look forward to a unique trip to Formentor in Mallorca! The gorgeous coastal region in the north will impress you with the foothills of the mountain range Serra de Tramuntana, that descend into the sea as steep cliffs. Get enchanted by the marvellous landscape of Formentor at this tour in Majorca! At the same time, the day trip from the south and the east coast of the island offers even more: You'll visit a weekly market in Mallorca to get to know the authentic, Spanish market culture and you can go shopping to your heart's content on the traditional weekly market. Since the weekly markets in Mallorca always take place in the same places on the same day, the tour approaches another weekly market depending on the chosen day:

  • Tuesday: market of Alcudia
  • Sunday: market of Pollensa

During the morning market visit, you can deeply dive into the Majorcan flair and mix with the local people to try and buy the freshly produced products. A market tour in Mallorca is also perfect to purchase some nice souvenirs as a holiday memory. Depending on the remaining time and the week day of your Formentor tour, you might make a little detour to a leather shop in Inca, the city that is famous for its high-quality leather production.

Now you continue to the north coast of the island, in direction of Cap Formentor. The entire Cap Formentor is only reachable per hike (by foot) or by boat due to the mountainous foothills and steep cliffs, which is why you'll drive to the perfectly located viewpoint Mirador del Colomer, from which you'll have a fantastic view of Formentor at this tour. During the Formentor trip, the English-speaking travel guide reveals lots of suspenseful and amusing facts about the history of Cap Formentor and the area. From the viewpoint, you'll drive along the picturesque Formentor coastal road to the beach of Formentor - hold ready your camera during the drive to capture the breathtaking views over the bay of Pollensa and Puerto Pollensa!

Arriving at the beach Playa Formentor, you'll have a little break from the Formentor tour: Get tanned by the sun on the brightly golden sand or go for a swim in the crystal-clear sea of the sheltered bay. Playa Formentor is also perfect for a little walk. In the summer months and at good sea weather, you'll use the possibility to see Formentor on this tour one last time in all its beauty. At the boat tour from Formentor to Puerto Pollensa, you can admire the rugged cliffs and the beautiful bay. When you arrive in Puerto Pollensa, the bus takes you back to your hotel.

Well organised, but somewhat strenuous

The excursion was well organised, but a little too long for me personally. The visit to the market was interesting and the view from the Mirador del Colomer was breathtaking. The beach was beautiful, but the day dragged on. The boat trip in good weather was a highlight. All in all, a solid experience.

good trip

Great views on Formentor! The weather was great, but it was a shame that the cruise was not possible. Still, relaxing on Playa Formentor was a hit! 🌞

dobra wycieczka

Świetne widoki na Formentor! Pogoda dopisała, ale szkoda, że rejs nie był możliwy. Mimo to, relaks na Playa Formentor to hit! 🌞

a perfect mix of amazing views and relaxing moments

the excursion to formentor was a memorable experience for my group. the views from the viewpoint "el mirador de colomer" were simply mind-blowing. the bus tour was comfortable and the guide very informative. although formentor beach was a little crowded, the water was perfect for a refreshing swim. the boat ride from formentor to puerto pollensa was a great touch. the only but was that the time at the market felt a little short. overall, a worthwhile experience.
