For the famous Masca gorge hike in Tenerife, you'll get picked up at your hotel in the north, or alternatively you'll start in Santiago del Teide by bus till you reach the most beautiful village of the island, Masca. From there, you start the approx. 4.5 hour trekking through the Masca gorge. Enjoy the fantastic views and the unique surroundings of Masca during hiking the Barranco de Masca. The downwards hike through Masca gorge offers varying ground conditions, from rock steps over gravel paths and smaller rocks that you'll conquer with the help of a rope.

Arched rock formations, for example the "elephant", accompany you through the spectacular gorge with up to 600 m high scaps. For the Masca gorge hike, you'll be rewarded with marvellous photo scenes: The gorge ends in a natural beach, from where you'll have great views of La Gomera. Here you can rest a bit from hiking or refresh yourself with a swim in the sea, before you'll go by boat (not included in the price) at 4:30 PM past the impressive steep cliffs of Los Gigantes. With a little luck, you can even watch some dolphins during the boat trip to Los Gigantes. From Los Gigantes, you'll return relaxedly to your hotel.

The famous Masca gorge hike: go hiking through the Barranco de Masca in Tenerife

Have you already seen the entire beauty of the Canary Island in your Tenerife holidays? Masca isn't only one of the most beautiful villages of Tenerife, but it also offers one of the main highlights for Tenerife fans with the hike through the Masca gorge. The impressive gorge of Masca can be wandered through within approx. 4-4.5 hours, so this trekking tour is also possible for not so experienced hikers with good physical condition and sturdy shoes. Together with an experienced hiking guide, who'll give you interesting information about Masca and Tenerife during the Masca gorge hike, you'll wander through the ca. 8 km long Barranco de Masca.

The lush, green vegetation will enchant you continuously during the Masca gorge hike, as well as the unique rock formations and the incredible views that you'll have during hiking. On varying ways, you'll be hiking down the Masca gorge, where you can always take a break for admiring the nature, taking pictures or rest briefly. At the bottom of the gorge you can even expect to see some water if it rained in the months before. After approx. 4 hours hiking, you arrive at the natural beach of the Masca gorge. Here you can rest and recover with a freshly prepared mojito, until you take the boat at 4:30 PM from Masca to Los Gigantes (not inlcuded in the price). You can also refresh yourself with a swim in the sea during the waiting time (don't forget to bring swimwear and a towel).

On the boat trip to Los Gigantes, many times dolphins accompany the boat that passes by the gigantic steep cliffs Los Gigantes, so you even see two of the most impressive natural wonders of Tenerife in just one day. The Masca hike ends with the arrival in Los Gigantes, from where you are brought back to your hotel.
