A short introduction will familiarize you with the horses and the course for the upcoming adventure. On dirt roads you ride between vineyards and olive groves to the forest. From there, descend to the river Lente, which is crossed several times during the ride, and follow its course down to the valley. After a little over an hour, the ascent begins on the other side of the valley to a viewpoint from which the panorama of the Maremma opens up. On clear days you can see as far as the sea. Again through vineyards and fields, you will return to the stable after about 1.5 hours.

Horseback riding in Tuscany: On horseback through the unique landscape of the Italian Maremma

If you can look out over the rolling hills to the sea and smell the tranquillity between pine forests and olive groves, you may be sitting in a horse saddle and riding through Tuscany. More precisely through the beautiful Maremma of Central Italy. Long underestimated, the region in the south of Tuscany has developed into a real insider tip for lovers of Italy. Because you will find everything here - the sea in front, mountains in the back and a lot of culture and tradition in the middle, good food, numerous sports activities and a special nature experience. This is exactly what you can expect on a 1.5-hour ride through the Maremma from Sorano.

Between the fields and hills of this region steeped in history, you will ride on horseback along secluded paths and through the natural course of the river Lente. Several times you will cross this beautiful brook with the horses and perhaps feel transported back into a childhood dream full of adventure. During this excursion you will ride on well-trained and well-balanced horses, which are kept in the pasture and in the group. Almost all animals can be ridden in English riding style as well as western style. A small greeting and briefing is obligatory for the tours with the horse. In this way you will get to know many of the animals and their riding instructors better before the ride.

Children from 14 years of age can take part in the riding tour through the Maremma. Even people without riding experience are in trustful hands with the crew. The equestrian farm is not far from the small town of Sorano, surrounded by woods, water and fields and embedded in the archaeological park of the three tuff villages. Here the long and eventful history of the Etruscans is still vivid and palpable. The park includes the rocks of San Rocco and the cemetery of Sovana.
