Detailed description
Walking Tour on Malta: Exploring Valletta's Sights
Visit the historic city of Malta on this Valletta city tour and walk to the sights of this ancient city. The flair of the old magnificent buildings, which blend into the scenery of the city with modern shopping centres, which you can also visit as part of this tour, conveys an impressive atmosphere. The city is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site and European Capital of Culture 2018.
However, most of the important buildings focus on Baroque architecture. Many of the numerous palaces, churches and museums in Valletta were built in this style and make the city an incomparable masterpiece of architecture. After the successful defence of Malta by the Knights of St. John in 1565, Valletta was designed and built as an impregnable fortress town. During the following centuries, Malta's capital was repeatedly extended by magnificent buildings as an open-air museum for major architectural projects. With this Valletta sightseeing city tour many of the buildings are in the program. Marvel at the new Parliament building and the ruins of the Royal Opera House, the Church of Our Lady of the Mount Carmel, the National Library, the Castle with the Court of Knights and the Barrakka Gardens at the fortifications of St. Peter and St. Paul, from where you can admire the Valletta Waterfront with many mooring cruise ships as well as Fort St. Angelo and the large shipyards as a harbour panorama. The memorial of the siege bell and the old university are only some of the other highlights in the city map of the sights. Of course you can also simply visit Valletta's inhabitants and the beaches of Malta.
You walk by the most important sights in Valletta:
- The new parliament building and the ruins of the Royal Opera House
- The Lady of Victory Church
- Upper Barrakka Gardens
- The Auberges of Castile and Italy
- The Castellania or the courts of the knights
- St. John's Co-Cathedral (entrance fee included)
- The Great Siege Monument
- Strait Street
- Sacra Infermeria
- The Siege Bell Monument
- Lower Barrakka Gardens
- The Old University
- Greek Catholic Church Lady of Damascus
- St. George's Square and Grand Master's Palace
- The Bibliotheca Nazionale
- The Banca Giuratale
- The Monte di Pietà and Redenzione
No matter who you go on this Valletta sightseeing walking tour with, the 3-hour journey through time will not be boring, but will provide you with cultural delicacies that you will remember with pleasure.

Valletta, you beautiful, fascinating and impressive!
The very best family program: turbulent, extreme, exciting! Great city this Valetta! Never been there before and I liked that I will be flying to Malta again.Valetta, du Schöne, faszinierende und beeindruckende!
Familienprogramm vom Allerfeinsten: Turbulent, extrem, spannend! Full of baroque
I didn't expect this city to be home to such wonderful baroque architecture. That the Maltese metropolis was the European Capital of Culture two years ago I could understand very well after this great city walk. Recommended offer.Barock satt
Empfehlenswertes Angebot.Great sightseeing tour of Malta's capitals
The walking tour with the nice guide was a successful event! I really liked the atmosphere and organization. The city too, of course. An inexpensive way to get to know the city up close and slowly & easily. @Heidi - That the tour is in English is clearly stated several times on the website. And I cannot understand the language criticism of the description text. I am happy about the sunbonoo site. It's an international company, so we can be grateful that they even translate the texts. Many other tour operator sites adopt foreign language texts and only rely on the automatic Google translation. There are a few anglicisms on the pages here, absolutely “no problem”!Super Sightseeing-Tour durch Maltas Kapitale
Valletta is a capital full of charm
This city tour gives a comprehensive overview of architecture and history since the 16th century. After the three hours you can say: “I have visited and seen Valletta”! I gave it 5 stars.
I am tolerant and open-minded. I try to get to know and understand other cultures on vacation. It is one thing that you have no German leadership in such an activity (after all, you are in a foreign country). But why do you have to mess up the German language with the description on this page? "Walking Tour"? What is meant is nothing more than a hike. “Local guide” means tourist guide or city guide and so on ... Please use the German language when addressing German readers (and customers!).„MultiKulti“ feiert Urständ
