Detailed description

From Kos to island hopping in a traditional sailing boat - with BBQ and dolphin watching

The 3-island tour around Kos is one of the most popular excursions in the Greek holiday paradise. On no other day trip can you see so much of the island world and collect so many impressions of the Greek Aegean on one day as on this island tour in a sailing boat. A day awaits you to relax, enjoy and discover. With Kalymnos, Plati and Pserimos you can look forward to three island beauties and a varied boat trip. Each of the 3 islands is in itself a beautiful piece of Greece. The day trip starts in the harbour of Kos, from where many excursion boats depart. You will board a traditional sailing ship built in wood and comfortably equipped for a day at sea. The crew includes the skipper and his team. Take a seat on the couch or seat and enjoy the maritime atmosphere under sail.

The first stop is planned in the harbour of Vathi on Kalymnos. Even the approach is an experience. The harbour is surrounded by a rocky coast that opens up the closer you get to it. You will see numerous orange and lemon trees on fertile ground in the Vathi valley. The city and island are also known for fishing and the sponge industry. During the 1-hour stop planned on the islands, you can visit a sponge factory. The natural material is collected by divers in the sea and then processed on land. From Vathi we continue to Plati Island and stop for a swim in a bay in front of the small island. Keep your eyes open during the boat trip. It is possible that some of the dolphins native to this region will already visit us on this section.

Your physical well-being will be taken care of on board. The crew prepares a rich lunch filled with Greek specialties on board. There will also be a vegetarian variant. You can also order refreshing drinks at the on-board bar.

One of the smallest inhabited islands will be the last stop of this beautiful day trip: Pserimos. Only 16 square meters large and inhabited by only a few people, this enchanting island is known for the cultivation of capers and olives, which you can taste in one of the taverns. On the otherwise stony island has a wonderful sandy beach, which you can visit for a breather or a sunbath. From Psérimos we will sail the Aegean again and let the wind blow around our noses. The 3 island tour ends with the entrance to the harbour of Kos and you will get off with many impressions of this boat trip.

Then they came ...

The hours flew by. When we started walking back, they still appeared: a small cheeky dolphin school. They made the day "round"

Dann kamen sie doch noch…

Die Stunden vergingen wie im Fluge. Als wir schon langsam den Rückweg angingen, tauchten sie doch noch auf: Eine kleine freche Delfinschule. Sie machten den Tag „rund“

The right mix!

This is how vacation must be. The calm passages on the boat contrasted well with the phases on the three islands. Recommendable!

Die richtige Mischung!

So muß Urlaub sein. Die ruhigen Passagen auf dem Boot bildeten einen guten Kontrast zu den Phasen auf den drei Inseln. Empfehlenswert!
