The volcano hike on La Palma leads along a 4.5 km comfortable path to the top of the new volcano Cumbre Vieja. The formation of Tajogaite created new, mystically beautiful land in less than 100 days. The trail begins at the oldest volcano on the island, Tacande, which dates back to 1480. The locals also call it La montaña Quemada. The easy route leads over thick layers of ash. During the hike you will get to know more about the new volcano on La Palma - and the consequences of the eruption for the island. On September 19, 2021, the earth opened up and the incessant lava flow buried houses, roads and plantations. Many settlements on La Palma were destroyed, many people had to leave the affected areas. At the same time, this metamorphosis has shown once again what a unique landscape is created when Mother Nature unleashes her power.
