Detailed description

Stargazing on La Palma - bus excursion to the Roque de los Muchachos

Did you know that the sky over La Palma is a cultural asset and is therefore protected from light smog by Canarian law? The island is undoubtedly one of the best places in Europe to observe the stars and the sky. On our star tour, we take you as high up as possible. We travel by bus to the Roque de los Muchachos viewpoint, 2426 metres above sea level and above the clouds. This natural enclave is home to the Roque de Los Muchachos Astrophysical Observatory (ORM), one of the leading centres for astronomical observations. Some of the most important telescopes in the world are located here. A visit to the observatory is not planned as it is closed in the evening.

On the way to the highest point of the island, we will travel by bus through a special area - there are telescopes on both sides of the road that we will use for a first look at the stars. We will talk about each telescope and why they have chosen this exceptional location. This will give you a first-hand look at the sky over La Palma and the special features of this observatory, which is considered one of the best places in the world for astronomy. Nearby, you can enjoy an unforgettable sunset over the clouds with a glass of wine. At night, amateur telescope observations take place in a nearby observatory.

Our team of starlight guides offers you the opportunity to discover an infinite number of stars as well as galaxies, planets, nebulae and star clusters.
