Snorkeling and trial diving in Cephalonia

Cephalonia is the largest but less populated of the Ionian Islands. This gives you the chance - at least on a day when you are not snorkeling or diving in Cephalonia - to be alone on one of the many pristine beaches. If you prefer large, bustling beaches, you can choose between one of the world's most famous beaches, Myrtos, or the green bay of Antisamos. The cephalonian nature is spectacular. In addition to the emerald green, crystal clear, warm waters, numerous beaches and breathtaking coastline, the island is home to endemic plant species and wild horses. In the coastal areas you will find hundred-year-old vineyards and olive trees.

A few meters further off the coast, the enchanting landscape of the island changes into a fascinating underwater world, which you can get to know by snorkeling and diving in Cephalonia. Along the majestic rock walls there are some small caves to discover. As a change from the interesting, but monochrome rock formations, there are distinct reefs that shimmer in the bright colours of the local sea dwellers. Some of them may hide in the huge seagrass fields.

Snorkelling and scuba diving on Cephalonia itself is easy via the airport or by ferry from Patra, Kyllini, Zante, Ithaka, Astakos or Lefkas, if you are on the Ionian Islands anyways. The tour starts at the Skala Dive Centre where you meet and after a short briefing with the included equipment get on the boat to go to your dive site. The professional guide at your side will ensure that you return with the best memories.
