Traditional villages, beautiful beaches, historical monuments: in one day you will get to know some of the most important sights of Rhodes. The island tour starts in the north and includes pick up for guests between Kremasti and Kolympia. In an air-conditioned bus we set off to discover the beauty of the island. The first stop welcomes us with a breathtaking view of the Aegean Sea: we visit the venetian castle of Kritinia, a magnificent 16th century building on a hill. In the small village of Embona we visit a winery and take part in an olive oil tasting.

Afterwards we drive to Profitis Ilias, the Italian settlement below the same named mountain was built in 1929 amidst a forest of pines, cedars and oaks. An ideal stop for photos or coffee. We also want to take a closer look at the Byzantine church in Fountouklis on the island tour. A photo stop in Saint Nektarios is also planned. There is a huge plane tree there, for which it needs at least 3 adults to cover the trunk. In a Greek taverna you can enjoy a lunch break (food not included). A last relaxing stop will take us to the springs of Kalithea, a majestic place known since ancient times for its thermal springs. There we can swim and enjoy a drink before returning to the north of the island.

Big island tour Rhodes with transfer from the north

Rhodes is anything but a simple bathing island with beautiful beaches and rich nature in the countryside. Its long and varied history has made the island a rich setting, with important monuments and charming sights. We want to explore some of these highlights on the Rhodes Island Tour, let the local life have an effect on us and get intoxicated by the beauty of the coastal paths. Our guided day tour offers a lot of program and comfort. The transfer from the north is included. We pick you up at or near your hotel between Kremasti and Kolympia and set off to discover the highlights of Rhodes.

The bus tour takes you through traditional villages and to beautiful beaches. We stop at the Venetian castle of Kritinia, a magnificent 16th century building that sits on a hill far above the village of the same name. From this point we have a fantastic view of the Aegean Sea, the neighbouring island of Rhodes and across the landscape. We relax in Profitis Ilias, an Italian settlement in the middle of a forest of pine, cedar and oak trees. If you are interested in wine growing on Rhodes, you will not pass by the mountain village Embona. Here not only the largest winery of the island produces, but also small family businesses open their doors. Wine from the island is appreciated for its sometimes sweetish aroma, some grape varieties thrive better in the climatic conditions on the island than elsewhere. And you can taste that. In a cellar we will taste among other olive oils - these too have an unique aroma on the island.

Next stop is Fountouklis, a Byzantine church of Saint Nikolaos, built in the 14th century, which is just as fascinating as Saint Nektarios. This is certainly one of the most unusual destinations on Rhodes. But the giant plantane that grows here has taken a liking to the people. It takes the arm lengths of at least 3 adults to embrace the huge trunk - a charming photo motif. In a tavern we can enjoy Greek specialities for lunch (food not included).

Along the east coast, a real masterpiece of the island awaits you with the Thermes Kalithea. Already the Romans were cured here by the slightly sulphurous water. It was the Italians who turned the thermal springs into a sophisticated bathing landscape in oriental style - still one of the highlights of Rhodes today. The thermal baths of Kalithea are the last stop on our island tour of Rhodes. Here we will have a bath or a drink on the terrace before we start our journey home via the east coast and bring you back to your hotel.
