Booking option: Quad Bike Safari Agia Pelagia

Once we have gathered at the meeting point, we will show you how to operate the quad bike and drive it safely. Everyone gets protective equipment including a helmet and we move to our off-road tracks for the practical part. Here you can familiarise yourself with the quads and get some driving experience in a protected environment - if it's your first time. When everyone feels safe, the Quad Bike Safari starts and we leave Agia Pelagia towards a small settlement also known as a ghost town. There are great landscapes and traditional houses to photograph. Our tour continues to the artisan village of Fodele, where a famous Renaissance painter called EL Greco lived. Here we take a 20-minute break, enjoy a freshly squeezed orange juice amidst orange groves and have a chance to see the historical sights such as the church and the house where El Greco lived. Afterwards we leave Fodele and drive through charming landscapes back to the meeting point in Agia Pelagia. Photos and videos of the Quad Bike Safari will be provided.

Detailed description

Quad bike tour from Agia Pelagia to the mountains of Crete

This quad bike safari from Agia Pelagia could be the highlight of your stay in Crete. Its an adventure in the fabulously beautiful mountains of the north coast and with the right amount of spirit of discovery. We will see places that hardly any vacationer can find or even reach by himself. Eleven modern ATVs are available for the quad tour - perfect for the off-road sections we expect on this route. The quad tour starts with a briefing and driving practice. From the practical part we go directly to the route of our quad tour and start with the ride to a peninsula near Monofatis. We meet here an environment like from another time: abandoned houses and ruins of the once beautiful mansions. We are in Achlada, known as a ghost town. This village was once full of life. When Agia Pelagia became a famous tourist resort, the inhabitants of Achlada left their village and went out to Agia Pelagia. Today Achlada is almost deserted in a beautiful landscape.

Leaving the ghost village of Achlada, we hop on the quads and head off-road through the Cretan mountains. Expect to have exclusive access to some of Crete's most beautiful landscapes and, of course, plenty of off-road fun on unique tracks. Look forward to immersing yourself in nature where oregano grows and goats roam! With fresh oxygen in our lungs, we descend to our last stop, the beautiful village of Fodele.  This traditional village is the home of the famous Renaissance painter Dominikos Theotokopoulos, also known as El Greco. In Fodele, we will take a 20-minute break to rest and have a drink at an iconic café by the river. In Fodele you will have time to walk through the streets of the village. Visit El Greco's childhood home turned into a museum, explore the surrounding area and visit an 11th century Byzantine church.
