If you want to explore the northwest coast of Crete at your own pace, rent a licence-free boat in Kolymbari (Kolymvari) with all the nautical equipment (sunscreen, GPS, cool box, safety equipment). At the base, you will receive a well-grounded briefing as well as route suggestions for a boat tour with plenty of privacy. Two different models are available for licence-free boat hire:

• Iris is a brand new boat (4.55m) with a 30 hp Yamaha four-stroke engine. It can easily sail the sea in Crete and around the Spatha peninsula. It is safe and stable to travel comfortably on the sea.
• Tsakman also has a 30 hp four-stroke engine, measures 4.70m and can accommodate up to 5 people (recommended 4 people). It is the perfect choice for comfortably exploring the coast of Chania.
  Please note that the Tsakman model has a limited range, and cannot be taken further than the Spatha peninsula.

Rent a boat in Crete without a license

An idea for the vacation day in Crete: rent a motorboat and take the family / friends with you. This works up to 30 hp even without a boat license. Enough power, therefore, to make some progress and look at the coast in the northwest. The boat rental in Kolymvari is located a few minutes by car from Chania and is the starting point for boat trips to the beach of Menies on the peninsula Rodopou. This island separates the bays of Chania and Kissamos and offers some private places for an anchor stop with a swim break. Renting a boat in Crete does not require any previous experience. Our experienced skippers will introduce you to the most important nautical rules at the base and also show you how to maneuver the license-free boats. You will find on board the basic equipment, this includes especially the nautical safety equipment, there is GPS, a sunshade and a cooler box where you can store provisions. What route you can choose in the boat without a license will be outlined in advance. Allowed are routes within a safety zone along the coast.
