Booking option: Crete buggy safari adventure around Karteros

Join us to experience the Cretan countryside and nature. Our buggy adventure begins in the small village of Karteros, not far from Heraklion, where we receive a 30-minute safety briefing on the operation of the buggies. We set off in groups, passing a small creek at the end of which is a cave of historical significance. The church of St Irene is beautifully situated.

The best panoramic view of the vastness of Heraklion is from the surrounding hills, which we climb with the buggies. Via the small village of Passa we reach the Karteros Gorge and continue to the Mt. Juktas Ecological Park in Archanes, an exceptional archaeological site of Fourni, where we visit the Municipal Contemporary Theatre and enjoy the panoramic view.

Before lunch in a Greek tavern, we take time to explore the gorge of Karteros. At the end of the adventure tour we make a final stop at the beach of Karteros for a swim (weather permitting).

Colourful Karteros Buggy Safari in Crete

This buggy safari in Crete has exactly the route that visitors to the island want: away from the resorts and into the mountains, through olive groves and vineyards, past small villages, with short stops at cultural and historical sites. There is a lot to see on the 5.5 hour tour, and buggying through this breathtaking scenery is fun. Look forward to the stops on this tour. You will be picked up from your hotel and driven in comfort to the starting point of the buggy safari in Kerteros. The small village is in the catchment area of Heraklion and is also the name of the gorge we will visit on the partial off-road safari.

We will climb the highest hill in the area to enjoy the fantastic panoramic views of Heraklion. During our buggy safari we will always have time to take pictures of the beautiful Cretan landscape and visit cultural and historical sites such as the church of St Irene or the archaeological site at the park of Archanes. Listen to the stories and anecdotes of our experienced guides. At lunchtime we will stop at a local taverna and enjoy a typical Cretan meal to recharge our batteries for the final leg of the Heraklion Buggy Safari. Weather permitting, we will stop for a swim at Karteros beach.
