After being picked up from your accommodation, enjoy the exciting landscapes of eastern Crete on the way to Mirabello Bay. Off the asphalt road, we descend to Richtis beach, nestled on a mountainside. At the car park we start our 30-minute walk (please wear sturdy shoes) through the Richtis Gorge to the waterfalls, where you can take photos and swim in the cool water. When you are ready to leave, we will walk back to the beach the same way and continue our jeep tour. Included in this day trip is a meze lunch with wine and water in a traditional taverna. After lunch we set off to visit the 3250 year old olive tree in Kavousi, the oldest on the island. You will learn a lot about the nature, the plants, the ancient history of Crete, about the olive business and anything you want to ask.

Jeep Tour from Agios Nikolaos to the Richtis Gorge in Eastern Crete

An exciting day trip in an off-road vehicle with a short gorge hike, a swim under the waterfall and a visit to the oldest olive tree in Crete. In addition, this jeep tour from Agios Nikolaos offers fantastic island landscapes, Mirabello Bay in all its beauty and entertaining off-road sections. Richtis Gorge is less known than the famous Samaria Gorge on Crete, but for nature lovers and hobby hikers it is a unique experience. You can discover the gorge on a tour of several hours or, as in our case, you can reach the waterfall from Richtis Beach in about 30 minutes.

The Crete Explorer Tour by jeep begins for our guests with a pick-up in the area of Agios Nikolaos and an approximately 1-hour off-road vehicle drive in an easterly direction. On the left side, the magnificent Mirabello Bay opens up halfway and accompanies us to the beach of Richtis, which we reach off the tarmac on wild paths. From the car park we start our short jungle hike (please wear sturdy shoes), which leads us directly to the waterfalls of Richtis. With a good basic level of fitness, both adults and children can manage this narrow path, accompanied by bird songs and the babbling of the river. You can savour the break at the waterfall: swim in the cool spring water and take photos of this unique natural scenery.
