Already in the early morning begins your adventurous, approx. 11.5-hour, all-day historical tour on Crete with tradition and food in Chania with the beginning of an approx. 2-hour bus ride to a remote fishing village on the Greek island, in which tourism is almost foreign. The English speaking tour guide will entertain you with beautiful stories. Arrived in the lonely village a small city guidance begins with breakfast, consisting of delicious, crispy bread with olive oil, tomatoes and cheese. So strengthened you set off in the direction of Lissos.

First it's very easy as you follow a road under the pine trees on the historic tour of Crete with tradition, food and adventure. But soon you leave the road towards the mountains. From the hill there you have a fantastic view of the gorge below and the turquoise sea off the coast. Where the trees finally give way to the bare rocky cliffs, we find the ruins of the Temple of Asclepius, built here in 300 BC and dedicated to the healing arts. In Lissos itself you will find excavations of a mighty ancient trading and fishing metropolis, which existed from 400 BC to 700 AD to 900 AD, when it was economically weakened and finally abandoned after a destructive earthquake. The city is said to contain a beautiful temple of the Dictinna, which, however, could not yet be excavated. But what you will find in the ruins during the one hour hike was the great tourist attraction in antiquity: A healing well of the Asclepius, from which you can drink. After a good 2 hours on the beach of Lissos you will take a fishing boat to a remote fishing village for dinner and cooking lessons.
