Breathtaking volcano tour in the south of Lanzarote: Jeep safari through lava landscape

The guided jeep tour with open Landrover Defender 110 SW off-road vehicles starts in the village of Mácher. From there you start on dirt roads towards Asomada and enjoy wonderful views of the wine growing area La Geria and the tourist resorts Pueblo del Carmen and Arrecife on the coast. In good weather you can see as far as Fuerteventura.

During the jeep safari in Lanzarote you will visit the famous Timanfaya National Park, where you will take a bus tour and learn interesting facts about the geological phenomena caused by the volcanoes that are still active today. You will also learn more about the approximately 180 different plant species that can be found in this area. Afterwards you can have lunch in the restaurant "El Diablo". In the special location many of the dishes are prepared on a volcanic grill over a 6 meter deep hole with rising lava heat (meal is not included in the price). It is located in the middle of the Fire Mountains (Montañas del Fuego), as the park is also called, and it was designed by César Manrique. Take advantage there of the magnificent view over the volcanic landscape for special holiday snapshots!

You continue with the open jeeps to El Golfo. There the sea flows through the middle of a crater. Enjoy the mystical atmosphere and marvel at the black beach, which forms a fascinating contrast to the green lake "Laguna de los Clicos", which is connected to the sea underground.

The varied Lanzarote jeep safari takes you on narrow roads designed by César Manrique to Los Hervidores, another highlight of the day tour. Here you will marvel at the unique coastal landscape formed since the last eruption of Timanfaya more than two centuries ago. The sudden cooling of the lava and the power of the waves have formed a breathtaking volcanic rocky landscape. Their charm will captivate you and you will take fantastic photos for your holiday album!

You continue in the direction of Salinas de Janubio, a salt-producing area and can enjoy the wonderful view of the black Janubio beach. The discovery jeep safari in Lanzarote is slowly coming to an end, but also the bathing fun should not be neglected when the weather is fine. At Papagayo Beach near Playa Blanca you can refresh yourself in crystal clear water. A day full of exciting impressions couldn't end more beautifully!

Lush landscape

Lanzarote has me hooked with its rustic appearance. The presence of volcanoes has never been washed out which is what puts it in a special place in my heart. We got super close to its terrain and saw so much of it on a day-long tour.

Grandson loved it

I took my grandson on this tour to show him a different side to the island and he had the time of his life. He couldn’t wait to tell his Mum over Facetime. He was in awe of the volcanic land that we drove through.

Fast-paced fun

Me and my best mate wanted to get to know Lanzarote and a touristy bus tour didn’t appeal much to us which led us to opt for this and boy we were glad we did. We had a wicked time together in the jeep.

A gorgeous tour in a even more gorgeous island

The tour was very well organised, the lanscape unique, like being in another planet...or in a movie :) I love Lanzarote because it is sooo diferent to everything else I have seen yet, and I am well traveled! I definitely recommend the island and this tour. Also the guide...was so nice, professional and wise...
