Detailed description

Guided hike through the volcanic landscape of Lanzarote

The Canary Island of Lanzarote is known for its impressive volcanic landscape and is home to two natural parks that were particularly affected by the eruptions of 1730-36 and 1824: Los Volcanes and Timanfaya. On this guided hike you will visit the so-called "lunar landscape" of the Los Volcanes Natural Park. During the 3 hour hike of about 7 km, you will have the opportunity to learn more about the volcanic eruptions that have shaped Lanzarote and enjoy the impressions of a bizarre landscape. After crossing dried lava flows and volcanic cones, you will come across volcanic tunnels, lava channels and impressive craters.

The whole landscape of the Nature Park is like a huge open-air museum, giving an idea of the incredible inner forces of our planet. This is another reason why volcano hiking in Lanzarote is an exciting experience for adults and children alike. Thanks to Lanzarote's desert-like climate, the lava formations are in excellent condition. Here and there, nature is slowly reclaiming its place over the lava. The walk starts at the entrance to the nature reserve - a transfer service is available for clients from Costa Teguise, Arrecife, Puerto del Carmen, Playa Blanca and Puerto Calero.
